Quick answer
No unlimited travel eSIM is unlimited at full speed. What separates them is how much data you get at full speed each day, how slow the connection becomes afterwards, and whether you can share it as a hotspot. Airalo, Saily and some Voye Global plans state the highest full-speed daily amounts, Jetpac and Saily allow hotspot sharing without a cap, and Holafly limits sharing to a daily amount. The tables below show each rule with its source, and the live price tables show what each plan costs per day.
12,806 plans from 7 providers, prices checked 18 Oct to 20 Oct 2026How unlimited eSIM plans really work
Travel eSIM providers use the word unlimited in three different ways, and the plan page rarely says which one you are buying:
- Full speed, then slower. You get a set amount of data at normal network speed each day, then the connection slows until the next day. This is the most common design.
- Fair usage policy. The plan has no stated daily amount, but the network can slow your speed if you use a lot. Holafly describes its policy as applied for no more than one day at a time, with speed restored the next day.
- Hotspot allowance. Sharing the connection with a laptop or another phone follows its own rule, which can be tighter than the plan itself.
The tables on this page compare those rules provider by provider. How we compare providers, and why prices come from live data rather than text, is explained on our how we research and rate eSIMs page.
Unlimited eSIM caps compared
Each row shows the rule a provider states for its unlimited plans in Spain. Caps can differ by destination and plan, so check the plan page for your trip before you pay.
| Provider | Full speed per day | After that | Hotspot sharing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Airalo | 5 GB | 1 Mbps | Not stated on its Spain page |
| aloSIM | 3 GB | 1 Mbps | Yes, no amount stated |
| Holafly | No daily amount stated | Speed restored the next day if reduced | Up to 1 GB a day |
| Jetpac Global | 3 GB every 24 hours | Up to 1 Mbps | Unlimited tethering, no data cap |
| Nomad eSIM | 2 GB | 1 Mbps | Not stated on its unlimited guide |
| Saily | 5 GB | Up to 1 Mbps | No limit stated |
| Voye Global | 3 GB or 5 GB, depending on the plan | Slower speed, resets daily | Not stated |
Sources: aloSIM, Holafly, Jetpac Global, Saily (hotspot) and Nomad (general rule) from aloSIM, Holafly, Jetpac, Saily and Nomad, checked 30 October 2026; daily amounts for Airalo, Nomad, Saily and Voye Global from each provider’s Spain plan details (Airalo, Nomad, Saily, Voye Global), checked 18 to 20 October 2026.
Tip: A higher daily amount only matters if you would use it. Most phone use, such as maps, messaging and transport apps, uses far less than the lowest cap in the table, so the hotspot rule and the price per day usually decide the choice.
Hotspot rules on unlimited plans
If you will work from a laptop or share data with a travel partner, the hotspot rule matters more than the daily cap:
- Holafly allows up to 1 GB of hotspot sharing a day. Its page says the total you can share depends on plan length, so a seven day plan includes seven days of that allowance.
- Jetpac Global states unlimited tethering with no data cap, on top of its 3 GB full-speed day.
- Saily describes its hotspot sharing as limitless on the Spain page we read.
- aloSIM lists hotspot as available on its Spain page without stating an amount.
- Airalo, Nomad and Voye Global don’t state a hotspot amount on the pages we read, so confirm it in the app or with support before you rely on it.

What unlimited eSIMs really cost
Unlimited plans are priced by the day, not by the gigabyte, so you compare them by price per day for the trip length you need. The tables below are live: they list plans from every provider with their checked prices, so you can compare price per day for unlimited plans and price per GB for fixed ones. Use the data usage calculator first to see how much data your trip needs, then check whether any unlimited plan beats a fixed one.

When a fixed data plan is the better choice
Unlimited plans cost more per day than a small fixed plan, and a daily cap means you can’t save unused data for another day. A fixed plan is usually the better value when:
- You mainly use maps, messaging and transport apps. The calculator shows how little data a week of that uses.
- You have Wi-Fi at your hotel or workplace for video and downloads.
- Your trip is short, because an unlimited plan priced per day adds up with every extra day.
- You want to top up only when you run low. Saily, for example, offers top-ups in its app.
If you share your connection, stream video daily or can’t predict your use, an unlimited plan removes the risk of running out. Compare the live prices for your trip in the eSIM finder, and see how eSIMs compare with roaming in our eSIM vs roaming vs local SIM guide.
Refund rules before you buy
Check the refund rule before you pay, because unlimited plans cost more and the conditions differ:
| Provider | When you can get a refund |
|---|---|
| Airalo | Unused eSIMs can be refunded; expired or fully used ones can’t |
| aloSIM | 30-day money-back if the eSIM can’t be installed or has connection problems |
| Holafly | Requests within 6 months of purchase; the conditions depend on whether the eSIM was activated or its QR code scanned |
| Nomad eSIM | Full refund within 30 days if the eSIM isn’t installed or the plan isn’t activated |
| Saily | Full refund within 30 days if the eSIM isn’t installed or the plan isn’t activated |
| Voye Global | Within 30 days if the eSIM fails to install or work because of a fault on Voye’s side |

Tip: Install the eSIM close to your departure date. Nomad and Saily refund only eSIMs that haven’t been installed, so installing early can cost you your refund if your plans change.

Not at full speed. Most unlimited plans give a daily amount at full speed and then slow down until the next day, for example to 1 Mbps. Holafly states no daily amount, but says a fair usage policy can reduce speed for up to one day at a time.
Among the amounts providers state for their Spain unlimited plans, Airalo and Saily give 5 GB a day, and Voye Global gives 3 GB or 5 GB depending on the plan. Jetpac and aloSIM give 3 GB and Nomad 2 GB. Check the plan page for your own destination, because caps can differ.
It depends on the provider. Holafly allows up to 1 GB of sharing a day, Jetpac states unlimited tethering and Saily describes limitless hotspot sharing. aloSIM lists it without an amount, and Airalo, Nomad and Voye Global don’t state one on the pages we read, so confirm before you rely on it.
Usually only for heavy use. Unlimited plans are priced by the day and cost more than a small fixed plan, so estimate your data with the calculator, then compare the live per day and per GB prices for your trip in the finder.
Saily says all its plans have a 180 day activation period, so you can start one later. Other providers set their own windows, so check the plan page. Nomad and Saily refund only eSIMs that haven’t been installed, so install close to your trip.
Not always. The caps in the table are for Spain plans, and a provider can set a different daily amount for another country or region. Open the plan for your destination to see its rule before you pay.
